महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-18, verse-16

वसिष्ठो नाम भगवांश्चाक्षुषस्य मनोः सुतः ।
शतक्रतोरचिन्त्यस्य सत्रे वर्षसहस्रिके ।
वर्तमानेऽब्रवीद्वाक्यं साम्नि ह्युच्चारिते मया ॥१६॥
16. vasiṣṭho nāma bhagavāṁścākṣuṣasya manoḥ sutaḥ ,
śatakratoracintyasya satre varṣasahasrike ,
vartamāne'bravīdvākyaṁ sāmni hyuccārite mayā.

16. Indeed, while the Sāman chant I had uttered was being performed during the thousand-year long Vedic ritual (sattra) of the venerable, inconceivable Śatakratu (Indra), the revered Vasiṣṭha, son of Cākṣuṣa Manu, spoke these words.
