महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-18, verse-10

पितृविप्रवधेनाहमार्तो वै पाण्डवाग्रज ।
शुचिर्भूत्वा महादेवं गतवाञ्शरणं नृप ॥१०॥
10. pitṛvipravadhenāhamārto vai pāṇḍavāgraja ,
śucirbhūtvā mahādevaṁ gatavāñśaraṇaṁ nṛpa.

śuciḥ bhūtvā mahādevam gatavān śaraṇam nṛpa
10. pāṇḍavāgraja nṛpa aham ārtaḥ vai pitṛvipravadhena

10. O eldest of the Pāṇḍavas, I was indeed distressed by the slaying of my Brahmin father. Having purified myself, O king, I resorted to Mahādeva (Śiva) for refuge.
