योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-5, chapter-53, verse-9

अहंभावो मुधा मोहो मनश्च मृगतृष्णिका ।
जडः पदार्थसंभारः कस्याहंकारभावना ॥ ९ ॥
ahaṃbhāvo mudhā moho manaśca mṛgatṛṣṇikā ,
jaḍaḥ padārthasaṃbhāraḥ kasyāhaṃkārabhāvanā 9

9. The sense of 'I' (ahaṃbhāva) is futile, a delusion. The mind (manas), moreover, is a mirage. This whole collection of material objects is inert. So, to whom does this feeling of ego (ahaṅkāra) truly belong?
