अग्निवेश्य उवाच ।
प्राह एतद्वचो निन्द्यं गुरुः पुत्रं हिताय च ।
किमेतत्पुत्र कुरुषे पालनं न स्वकर्मणः ॥ १२ ॥

Agnivēśya said: The father (guru), for his son's welfare, then spoke these admonishing words: 'My son, what is this you are doing? Why do you not uphold your own duty (svakarma)?'
