वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-5, chapter-46, verse-10

बलावमर्दस्त्वयि संनिकृष्टे यथा गते शाम्यति शान्तशत्रौ ।
तथा समीक्ष्यात्मबलं परं च समारभस्वास्त्रविदां वरिष्ठ ॥१०॥
10. balāvamardastvayi saṃnikṛṣṭe yathā gate śāmyati śāntaśatrau ,
tathā samīkṣyātmabalaṃ paraṃ ca samārabhasvāstravidāṃ variṣṭha.

yathā gate śāmyati śāntaśatrau
tathā samīkṣya ātmabalam param ca
samārabhasva astravidām variṣṭha

10. Just as the crushing of forces subsides when you are near, and similarly when an enemy is pacified and gone, so too, O foremost among weapon-experts, having carefully assessed your own strength and that of the foe, begin your action.
