पिता पितामहश्चैव तथैव प्रपितामहः ।
पिण्डसम्बन्धिनो ह्येते विज्ञेयाः पुरुषास्त्रयः ॥३॥

3. pitā pitāmahaścaiva tathaiva prapitāmahaḥ .

The father, the grandfather, and similarly the great-grandfather—these three persons are indeed to be understood as being connected through the ancestral offering (piṇḍa).
