23.
A distinguished Brahmin is one who is learned in the Vedic scriptures, a practitioner of yoga (yoga), a knower of the Vedas, the foremost chanter of the Sāmaveda, one who has thrice performed the Nāciketa fire ritual, one who has thrice studied the Madhu-brāhmaṇa, one who has thrice recited the Suparṇa portion, and one who understands the six auxiliaries of the Vedas (Vedāṅgas).
