महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-42, verse-39

आसीदाद्रवतो राजन्वेगस्तस्य महात्मनः ।
गरुडस्येव पततो जिघृक्षोः पन्नगोत्तमम् ॥३९॥
39. āsīdādravato rājanvegastasya mahātmanaḥ ,
garuḍasyeva patato jighṛkṣoḥ pannagottamam.
39. āsīt ādravataḥ rājan vegaḥ tasya mahātmanaḥ |
garuḍasya iva patataḥ jighṛkṣoḥ pannagottamam
39. rājan,
pannagottamam jighṛkṣoḥ patataḥ garuḍasya iva,

39. O king, the great-souled (mahātman) (Aśvatthāmā), as he rushed, exhibited a speed like that of Garuḍa flying to seize the best of serpents.
