महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-42, verse-33

धृष्टद्युम्नोऽपि समरे द्रौणेश्चिच्छेद कार्मुकम् ।
तदपास्य धनुश्छिन्नमन्यदादत्त कार्मुकम् ।
वेगवत्समरे घोरं शरांश्चाशीविषोपमान् ॥३३॥
33. dhṛṣṭadyumno'pi samare drauṇeściccheda kārmukam ,
tadapāsya dhanuśchinnamanyadādatta kārmukam ,
vegavatsamare ghoraṁ śarāṁścāśīviṣopamān.

ciccheda kārmukam | tat apāsya dhanuḥ
chinnam anyat ādatta kārmukam | vegavat

33. Dhṛṣṭadyumna, in battle, also cut Drauṇi's bow. Having cast aside that broken bow, Drauṇi took up another, and swiftly discharged dreadful arrows in battle, arrows that were like venomous snakes.
