महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-35, verse-59

जीर्णमन्नं प्रशंसन्ति भार्यां च गतयौवनाम् ।
शूरं विगतसंग्रामं गतपारं तपस्विनम् ॥५९॥
59. jīrṇamannaṁ praśaṁsanti bhāryāṁ ca gatayauvanām ,
śūraṁ vigatasaṁgrāmaṁ gatapāraṁ tapasvinam.
59. jīrṇam annam praśaṃsanti bhāryām ca gata-yauvanām
śūram vigata-saṅgrāmam gata-pāram tapasvinam
59. People praise well-digested food, and a wife who has passed her youth. They also praise a warrior who has concluded his battle, and an ascetic (tapasvinam) who has reached the ultimate goal.
