महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-35, verse-35

न छन्दांसि वृजिनात्तारयन्ति मायाविनं मायया वर्तमानम् ।
नीडं शकुन्ता इव जातपक्षाश्छन्दांस्येनं प्रजहत्यन्तकाले ॥३५॥
35. na chandāṁsi vṛjināttārayanti; māyāvinaṁ māyayā vartamānam ,
nīḍaṁ śakuntā iva jātapakṣā;śchandāṁsyenaṁ prajahatyantakāle.
35. na chandāṃsi vṛjināt tārayanti
māyāvinam māyayā vartamānam
nīḍam śakuntāḥ iva jātapakṣāḥ
chandāṃsi enam prajahati antakāle
35. The Vedic texts (chandas) do not rescue a deceitful person (māyāvin) who operates through illusion (māyā) from sin. Just as birds with grown wings abandon their nest, so too do the Vedic texts abandon such a person at the time of death.
