That which is the primal matter (pradhāna), the cosmic intellect (mahat), the unmanifest (avyakta), extending up to the particulars (viśeṣa) and inclusive of all its modifications; that which ranges from Brahmā down to a blade of grass, and from the elements (bhūta) to what is existent and non-existent (sadasat).
