महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-274, verse-52

रन्ध्रागतमथाश्वानां शिखोद्भेदश्च बर्हिणाम् ।
नेत्ररोगः कोकिलानां ज्वरः प्रोक्तो महात्मना ॥५२॥
52. randhrāgatamathāśvānāṁ śikhodbhedaśca barhiṇām ,
netrarogaḥ kokilānāṁ jvaraḥ prokto mahātmanā.

52. A disease affecting the orifices (randhrāgata) is for horses, and a disorder of the crest (śikhodbheda) is for peacocks. Eye disease (netraroga) is for cuckoos; all these are declared as 'fever' (jvara) by the great soul (mahātman).
