महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-274, verse-4

भीष्म उवाच ।
शृणु राजञ्ज्वरस्येह संभवं लोकविश्रुतम् ।
विस्तरं चास्य वक्ष्यामि यादृशं चैव भारत ॥४॥
4. bhīṣma uvāca ,
śṛṇu rājañjvarasyeha saṁbhavaṁ lokaviśrutam ,
vistaraṁ cāsya vakṣyāmi yādṛśaṁ caiva bhārata.
4. bhīṣma uvāca śṛṇu rājan jvarasya iha saṃbhavaṃ lokaviśrutam
vistaraṃ ca asya vakṣyāmi yādṛśaṃ ca eva bhārata

iha lokaviśrutam jvarasya saṃbhavaṃ śṛṇu.
ca asya vistaraṃ ca eva yādṛśaṃ (tat asti),
(tat) vakṣyāmi.
4. Bhishma said: "O King (rājan), O Bharata, listen to the origin of fever, which is renowned throughout the world. I will also recount its full story, just as it unfolded."
