महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-171, verse-9

न चैवाविहितं शक्यं दक्षेणापीहितुं धनम् ।

9. Not even by a capable person, who diligently and faithfully performs their efforts, can wealth that is not destined be acquired.
