यथा स्वभावनाद्यक्षस्तरौ सस्वजनं पुरम् ।
पश्यत्यसत्यमेवैवं जीवः पश्यति संसृतिम् ॥ ५ ॥

Just as a yaksha, through its own imagination (svabhāvanā), perceives an unreal city with its people in a tree, so too the individual soul (jīva) perceives the cycle of rebirths (saṃsāra).
