योगवासिष्ठः yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-7, chapter-43, verse-37

निम्नं विनैव तोयस्य न संभवति काचन ।
अर्थ एव मनस्कारो मन एवार्थरञ्जनम् ॥ ३७ ॥

nimnaṃ vinaiva toyasya na saṃbhavati kācana ,
artha eva manaskāro mana evārtharañjanam 37

37. nimnam vinā eva toyasya na saṃbhavati kācana |
arthaḥ eva manaskāraḥ manaḥ eva artha-rañjanam ||

37. toyasya nimnam vinā eva kācana na saṃbhavati
arthaḥ eva manaskāraḥ manaḥ eva artha-rañjanam

37. Just as water cannot exist without a low ground, so also the external object (artha) is essentially a mental impression (manaskāra), and the mind (manas) itself is what gives color or meaning to that object (artha).

37. כשם שמים אינם יכולים לזרום ללא מדרון, כך האובייקט והחשיבה מותנים זה בזה – התופעה אינה אלא הפניית המחשבה, והחשיבה עצמה היא הצביעה וההיקשרות לאובייקטים.
