योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-7, chapter-43, verse-42

एकत्वादर्थमनसी सममेवाशु शाम्यतः ।
अर्थः संकल्परूपात्मा नेहितव्यो विजानतो ॥ ४२ ॥
ekatvādarthamanasī samamevāśu śāmyataḥ ,
arthaḥ saṃkalparūpātmā nehitavyo vijānato 42
42. ekatvāt artha-manasī samam eva āśu śāmyataḥ |
arthaḥ saṃkalpa-rūpa-ātmā na īhitavyaḥ vijānataḥ ||
42. ekatvāt artha-manasī samam eva āśu śāmyataḥ arthaḥ saṃkalpa-rūpa-ātmā (asti),
vijānataḥ na īhitavyaḥ
42. Due to their oneness, the object and the mind (manas) both quickly subside simultaneously. The object, whose intrinsic nature (ātman) is imagination (saṃkalpa), should not be desired by one who knows.
