योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-5, chapter-14, verse-40

स्वचित्तपङ्कमग्नानां स्वनाशारब्धकर्मणाम् ।
मूर्खाणामापदं दृष्ट्वा प्ररुदन्त्युपला अपि ॥ ४० ॥
svacittapaṅkamagnānāṃ svanāśārabdhakarmaṇām ,
mūrkhāṇāmāpadaṃ dṛṣṭvā prarudantyupalā api 40
40. sva-citta-paṅka-magnānām sva-nāśa-ārabdha-karmaṇām
mūrkāṇām āpadam dṛṣṭvā pra-rudanti upalāḥ api
40. sva-citta-paṅka-magnānām sva-nāśa-ārabdha-karmaṇām
mūrkāṇām āpadam dṛṣṭvā upalāḥ api pra-rudanti
40. Even stones weep upon witnessing the calamity of fools who are mired in the mud of their own minds and whose actions (karma) set in motion their own destruction.
