योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-5, chapter-14, verse-33

शिलान्तरेषु जायन्ते कीटभेकघुणादयः ।
विष्ठायामपि जायन्ते नानाकीटगणास्तथा ॥ ३३ ॥
śilāntareṣu jāyante kīṭabhekaghuṇādayaḥ ,
viṣṭhāyāmapi jāyante nānākīṭagaṇāstathā 33

33. Insects, frogs, weevils, and other creatures are born within the hollows of rocks. Likewise, various groups of insects also come into existence in excrement.
