यदा गच्छसि संकल्पं चेत्यं संपश्यसे तदा ॥ ५६ ॥

When you abandon the state of the Supreme Self (paramātman) and completely engage with the external objects of perception (cetya), then, by cultivating mental intentions (saṅkalpa), you perceive those objects (cetya).
