योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-3, chapter-96, verse-47

मनो हि जडमन्यस्य भिन्नमन्यस्य जीवतः ।
तथाहंकृतिरन्यस्य बुद्धिरन्यस्य वादिनः ॥ ४७ ॥
mano hi jaḍamanyasya bhinnamanyasya jīvataḥ ,
tathāhaṃkṛtiranyasya buddhiranyasya vādinaḥ 47
47. manaḥ hi jaḍam anyasya bhinnam anyasya jīvataḥ
tathā ahaṅkṛtiḥ anyasya buddhiḥ anyasya vādinaḥ
47. hi anyasya manaḥ jaḍam anyasya bhinnam anyasya jīvataḥ
tathā anyasya ahaṅkṛtiḥ anyasya vādinaḥ buddhiḥ
47. Indeed, for one (philosopher), the mind (manas) is inert; for another, it is distinct (from the self); for yet another, it is the living principle (jīvat). Similarly, for some, it is the ego (ahaṅkṛti), and for another debater (vādin), it is the intellect (buddhi).
