विस्तरेण मम ब्रह्मन् जडस्याप्यजडाकृतेः ।
रूपमारूढसंकल्पं मनसो वक्तुमर्हसि ॥ २ ॥

रूपमारूढसंकल्पं मनसो वक्तुमर्हसि ॥ २ ॥

vistareṇa mama brahman jaḍasyāpyajaḍākṛteḥ ,
rūpamārūḍhasaṃkalpaṃ manaso vaktumarhasi 2

Shri Rama said: O Brahman, please explain to me in detail the nature of the mind (manas), which, though inherently inert, appears to have a non-inert form and is endowed with powerful resolve (saṅkalpa).
