योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-3, chapter-96, verse-16

परायाः संविदो ब्रह्मन्नेताः पर्यायवृत्तयः ।
कल्प्यमानविचित्रार्थाः कथं रूढिमुपागताः ॥ १६ ॥

parāyāḥ saṃvido brahmannetāḥ paryāyavṛttayaḥ ,
kalpyamānavicitrārthāḥ kathaṃ rūḍhimupāgatāḥ 16

16. Śrī Rāma said: O Brahmin, how did these successive transformations of the supreme consciousness, which are imagined with diverse meanings, come to acquire a fixed, conventional form?
