प्रबुद्धलीलोवाच ।
यथैव जन्तुर्म्रियते जायते च यथा पुनः ।
तन्मे कथय देवेशि पुनर्बोधविवृद्धये ॥ १ ॥

Prabuddhalila said: "O Queen of gods, please explain to me the exact manner in which a living being (jantu) dies and is born again, so that my knowledge (bodha) may further increase."
