वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-6, chapter-88, verse-41

सौमित्रिं सा विनिर्भिद्य प्रविष्टा धरणीतलम् ।
तां कराभ्यां परामृश्य रामः शक्तिं भयावहाम् ।
बभञ्ज समरे क्रुद्धो बलवद्विचकर्ष च ॥४१॥
41. saumitriṃ sā vinirbhidya praviṣṭā dharaṇītalam ,
tāṃ karābhyāṃ parāmṛśya rāmaḥ śaktiṃ bhayāvahām ,
babhañja samare kruddho balavadvicakarṣa ca.

41. Having thoroughly pierced Soumitri (Lakṣmaṇa), that (śakti) weapon had penetrated the earth. Rāma, furious in battle, grasped that terrifying (śakti) with both hands, broke it, and forcefully pulled it out.
