वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-6, chapter-88, verse-39

स ददर्श ततो रामः शक्त्या भिन्नं महाहवे ।
लक्ष्मणं रुधिरादिग्धं सपन्नगमिवाचलम् ॥३९॥
39. sa dadarśa tato rāmaḥ śaktyā bhinnaṃ mahāhave ,
lakṣmaṇaṃ rudhirādigdhaṃ sapannagamivācalam.

lakṣmaṇam rudhirādigdham sa-pannagam iva acalam
39. rāmaḥ tataḥ saḥ mahāhave śaktyā bhinnam rudhirādigdham

39. Then Rāma saw Lakṣmaṇa in the great battle, pierced by the (śakti) weapon and smeared with blood, resembling a mountain with a serpent.
