मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-18, verse-9

भुवः पालनसामर्थ्य-युक्त एको महीपतिः ।
पृथिव्यां शस्त्रधृङ्मान्यस्त्वहमेवर्धिसंयुतः ।
ततो भविष्ये नात्मानं करिष्ये पापभागिनम् ॥९॥
9. bhuvaḥ pālanasāmarthya-yukta eko mahīpatiḥ .
pṛthivyāṃ śastradhṛṅmānyastvahamevardhisaṃyutaḥ .
tato bhaviṣye nātmānaṃ kariṣye pāpabhāginam.

tu aham eva ṛddhi-saṃyutaḥ tataḥ

9. A single king, endowed with the ability to protect the earth—I myself, venerable and bearing arms on this earth, am indeed endowed with prosperity. Therefore, in the future, I will not make myself a participant in sin.
