मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-18, verse-48

देवा ऊचुः ।
कथयस्व जगन्नाथ केषु स्थानेष्वस्थिता ।
पुरुषस्य फलं किं वा प्रयच्छत्यथ नश्यति ॥४८॥
48. devā ūcuḥ .
kathayasva jagannātha keṣu sthāneṣvasthitā .
puruṣasya phalaṃ kiṃ vā prayacchatyatha naśyati.
48. devāḥ ūcuḥ kathayasva jagannātha keṣu sthāneṣu āsthitā
puruṣasya phalam kim vā prayacchati atha naśyati
48. The gods said: "O Lord of the universe, please tell us, in which places does she (Lakṣmī) abide? What results does she grant to a person (puruṣa), or when does she disappear?"
