Indeed, having cut that arrow (tam nārācam), which was like (the dart of) Death (kālasaṃmitam), in battle (raṇe), Bhishma then killed the gold-adorned (kāñcanabhūṣaṇān) horses (hayān) of the chief of the Kurus (kauravendrasya, i.e., Yudhiṣṭhira).
