महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-6, chapter-82, verse-11

तं तु छित्त्वा रणे भीष्मो नाराचं कालसंमितम् ।
निजघ्ने कौरवेन्द्रस्य हयान्काञ्चनभूषणान् ॥११॥
11. taṁ tu chittvā raṇe bhīṣmo nārācaṁ kālasaṁmitam ,
nijaghne kauravendrasya hayānkāñcanabhūṣaṇān.

11. Indeed, having cut that arrow (tam nārācam), which was like (the dart of) Death (kālasaṃmitam), in battle (raṇe), Bhishma then killed the gold-adorned (kāñcanabhūṣaṇān) horses (hayān) of the chief of the Kurus (kauravendrasya, i.e., Yudhiṣṭhira).
