महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-158, verse-52

अध्वन्यहमथापश्यमगस्त्यमृषिसत्तमम् ।
उग्रं तपस्तपस्यन्तं यमुनातीरमाश्रितम् ।
नानापक्षिगणाकीर्णं पुष्पितद्रुमशोभितम् ॥५२॥
52. adhvanyahamathāpaśyamagastyamṛṣisattamam ,
ugraṁ tapastapasyantaṁ yamunātīramāśritam ,
nānāpakṣigaṇākīrṇaṁ puṣpitadrumaśobhitam.
52. adhvani aham atha apaśyam agastyam
ṛṣisattamam ugram tapaḥ
tapasyantam yamunātīram āśritam
nānāpakṣigaṇākīrṇam puṣpitadrumaśobhitam
52. Then, on my way, I saw Agastya, the foremost among sages, practicing severe asceticism (tapas) while settled on the bank of the Yamunā. That place was teeming with various flocks of birds and graced by flowering trees.
