महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-133, verse-58

व्रतवन्तो नराः केचिच्छ्रद्धादमपरायणाः ।
अव्रता भ्रष्टनियमास्तथान्ये राक्षसोपमाः ॥५८॥
58. vratavanto narāḥ kecicchraddhādamaparāyaṇāḥ ,
avratā bhraṣṭaniyamāstathānye rākṣasopamāḥ.
58. vratavantaḥ narāḥ kecit śraddhādamaparāyaṇāḥ |
avratāḥ bhraṣṭaniyamāḥ tathā anye rākṣasopamāḥ
58. Some people observe vows and are devoted to faith (śraddhā) and self-control (dama). But others, devoid of vows and fallen from their principles, are like demons.
