yat bhūtam jagat sṛjate (tat) ca evam etat ca na evam (iti) karmasthāḥ viṣamam brūyuḥ (tu) sattvasthāḥ samadarśinaḥ (brūyuḥ).

"It is thus, and it is not thus" – this is how the existing reality (bhūta) creates the world (jagat). Those devoted to `karma` (action) would describe it as uneven, while those established in purity (sattva) see all things equally.
