आहूतः प्रादुरभवत्कचोऽरिष्टोऽथ विद्यया ।
हतोऽहमिति चाचख्यौ पृष्टो ब्राह्मणकन्यया ॥३१॥

āhūtaḥ prādurabhavatkaco'riṣṭo'tha vidyayā ,
hato'hamiti cācakhyau pṛṣṭo brāhmaṇakanyayā.

Vaishampayana said: 'Then, applying the Saṃjīvanī vidyā (knowledge of reviving), he called out to Kach. Summoned by the vidyā, Kach, unharmed, appeared. When questioned by the Brahmin maiden, he then narrated, "I was slain."'
