पातालमिव पानीयं सर्पो बिलमिव क्षणात् ।
पञ्चवायुरिवाकाशमविशत्तन्मुखं जवात् ॥ ३६ ॥

pātālamiva pānīyaṃ sarpo bilamiva kṣaṇāt ,
pañcavāyurivākāśamaviśattanmukhaṃ javāt 36

36. pātālam iva pānīyam sarpaḥ bilam iva kṣaṇāt
pañcavāyuḥ iva ākāśam aviśat tat mukham javāt

36. kṣaṇāt javāt pātālam iva pānīyam,
bilam iva sarpaḥ,
ākāśam iva pañcavāyuḥ,
tat mukham aviśat.

36. Swiftly, in an instant, (the great ocean) entered that mouth, just as water (easily) fills the netherworld (Pātāla), a snake enters its burrow, or the five vital airs (pañca-vāyu) merge into space (ākāśa).
