योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-3, chapter-36, verse-31

मलयः सूर्यवांश्चैव गणा राज्यसमृद्धकाः ।
अवन्तीरिति विख्यातास्तथा शाम्बवतीति च ॥ ३१ ॥
malayaḥ sūryavāṃścaiva gaṇā rājyasamṛddhakāḥ ,
avantīriti vikhyātāstathā śāmbavatīti ca 31
31. malayaḥ sūryavān ca eva gaṇāḥ rājyasamṛddhakāḥ
avantīḥ iti vikhyātāḥ tathā śāmbavatīḥ iti ca

31. Malaya and Sūryavān are indeed among the peoples (gaṇā) who are prosperous in their kingdoms. They are well-known as Avanti and also as Śāmbavatī.
