अहं हि वचनाद् राज्ञः पतेयमपि पावके ।
भक्षयेयं विषं तीक्ष्णं मज्जेयमपि चार्णवे ।
नियुक्तो गुरुणा पित्रा नृपेण च हितेन च ॥१८॥

18. ahaṃ hi vacanād rājñaḥ pateyamapi pāvake ,
bhakṣayeyaṃ viṣaṃ tīkṣṇaṃ majjeyamapi cārṇave ,
niyukto guruṇā pitrā nṛpeṇa ca hitena ca.
bhakṣayeyaṃ viṣaṃ tīkṣṇaṃ majjeyamapi cārṇave ,

Indeed, by the command of the king, I would even fall into fire, consume potent poison, and plunge into the ocean; for I am enjoined by my preceptor (guru), my father, and the benevolent king.
