मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-35, verse-56

धर्मतो धनमाहार्यं यष्टव्यञ्चापि यत्नतः ।
यच्चापि कुर्वतो नात्मा जुगुप्सामेति पुत्रक ॥५६॥
56. dharmato dhanamāhāryaṃ yaṣṭavyañcāpi yatnataḥ .
yaccāpi kurvato nātmā jugupsāmeti putraka.
56. dharmataḥ dhanam āhāryam yaṣṭavyam ca api yatnataḥ
yat ca api kurvataḥ na ātmā jugupsām eti putraka
56. My son, wealth should be acquired through righteous means (dharma), and Vedic rituals (yajña) should be performed diligently. Moreover, one should do only that which, when performed, does not cause one's own self (ātman) to feel contempt.
