Then (tataḥ), the hero (vīraḥ) Shalya (śalyaḥ), enraged in battle (raṇe kruddhaḥ) and roaring (nadan), plunged a javelin (tomaram) into (Bhima's) broad chest (pīne vakṣasi). And it (the javelin), having pierced (bhittvā) the armor (varma), passed through (abhyagāt).
