महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-57, verse-5

कृपश्च कृतवर्मा च द्रौणिश्चैव महाबलः ।
एते रक्षन्ति राजानं सूतपुत्रेण रक्षिताः ।
अवध्यमानास्तेऽस्माभिर्घातयिष्यन्ति सोमकान् ॥५॥
5. kṛpaśca kṛtavarmā ca drauṇiścaiva mahābalaḥ ,
ete rakṣanti rājānaṁ sūtaputreṇa rakṣitāḥ ,
avadhyamānāste'smābhirghātayiṣyanti somakān.

5. Kṛpa, Kṛtavarmā, and also the exceedingly mighty Droṇi (Aśvatthāmā) – these, protected by Karṇa (sūtaputra), are guarding the king. Even though they are not being slain by us, they will destroy the Somakas.
