अलम्बुसोऽपि संक्रुद्धः कार्ष्णिं नवभिराशुगैः ।
हृदि विव्याध वेगेन तोत्त्रैरिव महाद्विपम् ॥१२॥

12. Greatly enraged, Alambusha also pierced Abhimanyu (Kārṣṇi) in the heart with nine swift arrows, just as one would pierce a great elephant (mahā-dvipam) with goads.
