महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-6, chapter-78, verse-27

अश्वत्थामा ततः क्रुद्धो निमेषार्धाच्छिखण्डिनः ।
सूतं ध्वजमथो राजंस्तुरगानायुधं तथा ।
शरैर्बहुभिरुद्दिश्य पातयामास संयुगे ॥२७॥
27. aśvatthāmā tataḥ kruddho nimeṣārdhācchikhaṇḍinaḥ ,
sūtaṁ dhvajamatho rājaṁsturagānāyudhaṁ tathā ,
śarairbahubhiruddiśya pātayāmāsa saṁyuge.

27. O king, then enraged Ashvatthama, in a mere moment, having aimed many arrows at Shikhandi's charioteer, banner, horses, and also his weapon, struck them down in battle.
