महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-6, chapter-78, verse-14

भारद्वाजस्तु समरे मत्स्यं विव्याध पत्रिणा ।
ध्वजं चास्य शरेणाजौ धनुश्चैकेन चिच्छिदे ॥१४॥
14. bhāradvājastu samare matsyaṁ vivyādha patriṇā ,
dhvajaṁ cāsya śareṇājau dhanuścaikena cicchide.
14. bhāradvājaḥ tu samare matsyam vivyādha patriṇā
dhvajam ca asya śareṇa ājau dhanuḥ ca ekena cicchide
14. tu samare bhāradvājaḥ patriṇā matsyam vivyādha; ca

14. In battle, Bhāradvāja (Droṇa) pierced Matsya (King Virāṭa) with an arrow. He then severed his banner and his bow with a single arrow in that very combat.
