महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-6, chapter-24, verse-63

क्रोधाद्भवति संमोहः संमोहात्स्मृतिविभ्रमः ।
स्मृतिभ्रंशाद्बुद्धिनाशो बुद्धिनाशात्प्रणश्यति ॥६३॥
63. krodhādbhavati saṁmohaḥ saṁmohātsmṛtivibhramaḥ ,
smṛtibhraṁśādbuddhināśo buddhināśātpraṇaśyati.

63. From anger, delusion (saṃmoha) arises; from delusion (saṃmoha), confusion of memory. From confusion of memory, the destruction of discriminative intellect (buddhi) occurs; and from the destruction of discriminative intellect (buddhi), one is utterly lost.
