शरणागतहा चैव सर्वे ब्रह्महणैः समाः ।
एतैः समेत्य कर्तव्यं प्रायश्चित्तमिति श्रुतिः ॥१२॥

etaiḥ sametya kartavyaṁ prāyaścittamiti śrutiḥ.

12. —and whoever kills a refugee—all these are indeed equal to those who kill a Brahmin (brahmahan). Thus says the sacred tradition: expiation must be performed after associating with such people.
