महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-219, verse-43

तेषां प्रशमनं कार्यं स्नानं धूपमथाञ्जनम् ।
बलिकर्मोपहारश्च स्कन्दस्येज्या विशेषतः ॥४३॥
43. teṣāṁ praśamanaṁ kāryaṁ snānaṁ dhūpamathāñjanam ,
balikarmopahāraśca skandasyejyā viśeṣataḥ.

balikarmopahāraḥ ca skandasya ijyā viśeṣataḥ
43. Their appeasement should be undertaken through bathing, incense, and anointing. Also, sacrificial offerings (bali) and other gifts should be made, and especially the worship of Skanda.
