महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-187, verse-1

देव उवाच ।
कामं देवापि मां विप्र न विजानन्ति तत्त्वतः ।
त्वत्प्रीत्या तु प्रवक्ष्यामि यथेदं विसृजाम्यहम् ॥१॥

1. The god said: O Brahmin, indeed, even the gods do not truly know me. But out of affection for you, I will explain how I create this universe.
