महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-187, verse-21

प्राप्नुवन्ति नरा विप्र यत्कृत्वा कर्मशोभनम् ।
सत्यं दानं तपश्चोग्रमहिंसा चैव जन्तुषु ॥२१॥
21. prāpnuvanti narā vipra yatkṛtvā karmaśobhanam ,
satyaṁ dānaṁ tapaścogramahiṁsā caiva jantuṣu.
21. prāpnuvanti narā vipra yat kṛtvā karmaśobhanam
satyam dānam tapas ca ugram ahiṃsā ca eva jantuṣu
21. O Brahmin, by performing excellent deeds such as truthfulness (satyam), generosity (dānam), intense asceticism (tapas), and indeed non-violence (ahiṃsā) towards all living beings, people attain that.
