महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-187, verse-23

सम्यग्वेदमधीयाना यजन्तो विविधैर्मखैः ।
शान्तात्मानो जितक्रोधाः प्राप्नुवन्ति द्विजातयः ॥२३॥
23. samyagvedamadhīyānā yajanto vividhairmakhaiḥ ,
śāntātmāno jitakrodhāḥ prāpnuvanti dvijātayaḥ.
23. samyak vedam adhīyānāḥ yajantaḥ vividhaiḥ makhaiḥ
śāntātmanaḥ jitakrodhāḥ prāpnuvanti dvijātayaḥ
23. The twice-born (dvijātayaḥ), who thoroughly study the Veda, perform various Vedic rituals (yajña), have tranquil minds, and have conquered anger, attain [the desired goal/state].
