महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-187, verse-31

श्वेतः कृतयुगे वर्णः पीतस्त्रेतायुगे मम ।
रक्तो द्वापरमासाद्य कृष्णः कलियुगे तथा ॥३१॥
31. śvetaḥ kṛtayuge varṇaḥ pītastretāyuge mama ,
rakto dvāparamāsādya kṛṣṇaḥ kaliyuge tathā.

raktaḥ dvāparam āsādya kṛṣṇaḥ kaliyuge tathā
31. My color (varṇaḥ) is white (śvetaḥ) in the Kṛta age (kṛtayuge) and yellow (pītaḥ) in the Tretā age (tretāyuge). It becomes red (raktaḥ) upon reaching (āsādya) the Dvāpara age, and similarly (tathā), black (kṛṣṇaḥ) in the Kali age (kaliyuge).
